Elegantly eccentric?

A delivery of Limedrop Calypso pieces inspires a few sweet thoughts for the season's garden parties and races.

And aren't the hats great? A random find while looking for 'hats and flowers' to go with the outfits. Kate Bishop (from Bisbee, Arizona!) describes her pieces as 'elegantly eccentric', which is rather apt for Milly sometimes perhaps...

This weekend ...

Voila! Some new Kuwaii, including the lovely handy slip (which also comes in black). The slip is featured in three of these photos but you can only really see it in the first (yes?), which is exactly the way it should be.

The blouse is a new favourite - it has a floaty full bat sleeve, and looks very fine worn loose as well. Its soft sheer feather-lightness can perhaps only be properly ah-ed over in person.

Also on the agenda (ah-genda!) this weekend:

a visit to Craft Vic, as Saturday (tomorrow) is the final day for the Katherine Bowman exhibition, Locutions (the loved object).

And, a spot of afternoon tea (2-4) at Mr Kitly, while viewing the intriguing work that almost didn't make it to Australia and, after all, did make it - just a little bit late. Phew.

Milly overfloweth...

with sweet flowers

with light blues and deep Vs

with soaring stripes

with tiny dropping anchors

with jewels

with ribbons

and with hundreds of many-coloured pearls.

And more.

In fact, more has just arrived (with bells) - a lovely new dress in two lengths and colours, and a gorgeous blouse with shining buttons, by Kuwaii.

Of course, more pictures to follow.

A quick peek at our new Livia Arena dress, which has an adorable internal collar, sweet buttons at the back, and comes complete with its own little slip skirt... And a few recent arrivals from Alexi Freeman... all featuring the season's beautiful chain print, which is a subtle graphic rendition of the actual chain work that composes this gown.

Milly Sleeping now has the grey marle mesh-back jersey singlet with charcoal print, and the the black singlet dress and black gather skirt, both with the light grey print. These (and the fantastic foil tees) are all printed by hand, resulting in natural variations of tone and placement, which means that no two pieces are quite the same.
