Not that our mannequins don't do a fine job (love to them, they are 6 and 1/2 years old!)... but some days it's good to get an alternative perspective.
These three new lovely long-sleeved dresses look appealing on the rack, and good enough on the mannequins but gorgeous on the body. Although obviously quite different, they have their similarities ... in that they could be dressed up for night but also look great all day worn tunic-style, with tights or leggings and boots or brogues (a scarf, a coat, etc.). They are all about the same length, too, which is pretty short if you are extremely tall and not so short if you are not quite so tall...
FYI - if you can't quite make them out, the original print featured on the top Jolet dress is a photograph of a rather beloved cityscape, taken from the Eiffel Tower... and this season's original Alexi Freeman print is composed from clusters of varying sized gold orbs - in total, a radiant galaxy.

Milly sleeping is rugging up in the maid's room... today until 6, and tomorrow (Saturday) from 12 to 6. Pictured above is a rather extraordinary S!X jacket from their collection of fantastic samples and one-off pieces. Across the way, Milly has some less furry jackets for sale, by ffiXXed and Alexi Freeman, unique accessories by MüCKE, and many other assorted treasures...
Milly Carlton is open, too – boasting new dresses, scarves, coats and tops by AF from Rock Star AW12; new trousers, skirts, dresses and coats from Jolet's AW12 collection, plus blouses and tunics from Near the Light AW12 by Kuwaii – today until 6, and Saturday from 10 to 5.
One of Milly's staff enjoyed the first wear of her new Jolet Idealist trousers so much today that she decided to make them the feature garment here at the blog (along with a few other pieces that she owns or covets)... But didn't she feel a bit sheepish, as she stood next to the mannequin to dress it in the same pants, adjusting the mannequin's height to match hers, turning up the mannequin's hems the same number of times as her own cuffs, playing with tucking in and leaving tops free as she had that morning, and even lending the mannequin her belt...
But, well, what can she say?
It's a good look...

Somebody asked me today why I was photographing the scarves and I said, 'because we're trying to suggest good ideas for Mother's Day'... And then the same person responded, 'isn't it a bit late for that?' and I said, 'sigh, yes, possibly' ... except that I haven't yet shopped for Mum, and neither had the asker of difficult questions.
Milly Sleeping has many options for those running (a bit) short of time. We have beautiful scarves in varied sizes, weights and fabrics; we have jewellery, and we've restocked our precious supply of OK OK tights and socks - thanks Emina!
We also have new garments in (including wool jackets!) from Alexi Freeman, Jolet and Kuwaii... Plenty to see, plenty of reasons to drop by.
